Wednesday’s Child is a charitable trust supporting small local projects which help children and young people in need in the London area north of the Thames. Our primary purpose is to benefit children and young persons up to the age of 18 who for any reason are physically, mentally, emotionally or economically disadvantaged or deprived. We specialize in finding and helping projects which are worthy of support but may not have adequate funding or the resources to organise their own effective fund-raising.
Wednesday’s Child is administered entirely by volunteers, and has no overheads such as salaries or office premises; mailing and printing costs are kept to a bare minimum. It is one of our great strengths that almost all sums donated are passed on to projects.
Funds come from businesses, charitable trusts, local schools, sports clubs, and from individuals who are Friends of Wednesday’s Child. We have no capital funding, but receive and distribute funds raised in the name of Wednesday’s Child to projects within our Charitable Objects.
Total annual distributions are approximately £20,000 to £25,000.
We have lots of great support:

Wednesday’s Child’s Trustees are responsible for the distribution of the Trust’s funds. The selection of projects to be supported by Wednesday’s Child is managed by the Trustees, who personally visit, scrutinise and select projects.
Institutional supporters such as businesses, charitable trusts, local schools and sports clubs, as well as individuals, make a significant contribution to our funds.
